MUSIC MINISTRIES

Music as part of worship is held in high regard by Lutherans. Martin Luther called music “the art of the prophets and the gift of God.” St. Peter’s supports an active music program under the coordination of Music Director and Organist Tina McGready.

The offering plate is never passed to the choir.
Being at rehearsal every Wednesday night certainly beats watching “Wife Swap.”
It’s exactly like singing in the shower, except you’re wearing a robe and people are actually listening.
Sitting with a group in the choir loft every Sunday is excellent practice in case you are ever called for jury duty.
You say you can sing the melody loudly but can’t read music? Two words: soprano section.
No matter how packed church is on Easter or Christmas, you will be assured of having a great seat in the Sanctuary.
Choir is always the first to receive communion, so you’ll get the freshest wafers.
For those fitness buffs, singing in the choir is not only “heart healthy” but “soul healthy,” plus there are no monthly membership fees and it’s a lot easier on the knees than jogging.
Yes, it’s true, if you are a tenor, you’re a chick magnet and all the ladies will swoon.
Because you wear a choir robe, you are freed from the fashion worries (those robes cover up a lot!).
